Boeding Buzz: Lego Movie: Building Happiness

Boeding Buzz by: Jake Boeding
My entire childhood can be summed up from one children’s toy: LEGOs. So, when I heard that there was going to be an animated feature on them, it was a no brainer for me to check it out. And let’s just say, that childhood passion has been revived. The LEGO Movie stands out as the most beautifully done animated movie in recent memory (that’s right folks, even better than Frozen) with incredible visuals and a stellar plot.

LEGOs are amazing toys. They let you create your own worlds, fantasies, etc. This is even made apparent in this movie. The different worlds the heroes are transported to are gorgeously crafted and well thought out. The use of LEGOs is apparent everywhere, from flames to explosions to waves. It is seriously impressive to watch this movie and see LEGOs incorporated into everything.

Another reason why this brick blockbuster impresses is because of the plot. The storyline is witty, cute, and very insightful. The ending 10-15 minutes are something you will never see coming. Extremely heart warming and teaching a valuable lesson, the LEGO movie exceeds any animated movie meant for both children and adults in storytelling ability.

Whether you are 6 or 60, you will love this movie. It’s fun nature and superb visual design go hand in hand and result in a near flawless animated film. Some might say it already has the 2015 Academy Award for Best Animated Film in the bag (your move Disney). I’m just going to go ahead and give you my rating so you can go see the LEGO Movie faster: MUST SEE.
