Sports Brief by: Darrin Head

As the winter sports kick off for the 2013-2014 season, the Northmen and Lady Oakies start off looking crisp. The Boys Basketball team lost their first two games to the Park Hill South Panthers and Park Hill Trojans. After beating St. Joe Central in the first round of the Liberty North Tournament, the Northmen look for the season to turn around and surprise people. (The Northmen Boys are now 1-2, playing Liberty North on Thursday December 12, 2013).

The Lady Oakies start off their season how many people expected. The Lady Oakies are now 4-0 to start off the season, what could be better? Oh I know, how about they just won the Championship game in the Winnetonka Invitational! The Lady Oakies took down KC Central, ACE, and Winnetonka to win it all. They play Park Hill South Thursday December 12, 2013.

As the Northmen continue to work hard to show their school pride. They have high expectations for this season. And Oak Park should continue to come support the teams!
