The Oak Park JV baseball team faced another challenge against rival Staley, falling 2-7 on Friday, April 24. The matchup continued to test the Northmen, who have struggled to find wins against the Falcons in recent seasons.
Despite the loss, the team continues to show up and improve with each game. Players remain focused on their skills and look to the future with their goals.
Sophomore pitcher and shortstop, Calvin Watson said, “My goals for next season are to make varsity and just play the best that I can. I hope we can finish the season strong and get some more wins.”
Freshman Jack Russell also spoke on his goals for next season.
“I hope next year we can win state,” said Russell. “We’ll definitely have good odds and I think we can take the title of state champs.”
With a determined roster and a drive to improve, the Northmen hope to make a change in the next season by taking down the Falcons and reclaiming the rivalry.
