When I ask people if students should have homework over holiday breaks, the most common answer is “No,” with a follow up answer by saying that its dumb to have homework in the first place. Most students believe that we should have holidays to ourselves and that we should have more time to spend time with family, not doing homework.
On the other hand, there are some small positives which very little students agree with why students should have homework over with the holidays. However, if you do have homework, it should be only one short, simple page. This is so that most of the kids who can’t do it over the holidays could get it done before class ends, and they won’t have to worry about it. Also, a small page of homework could help you keep up with what you are learning.
Another reason why there should be no homework is that we work hard all fall and winter and spring and we need a break. That is why the term Thanksgiving BREAK and winter BREAK means something. It means that we get to get away from school and spend time with friends and family; not spend time with our textbooks.
