Fashion Blog
Hello, my Oak Park Fashionistas! As you might have already known, the famous Italian fashion house Missoni has recently signed a contract to design for Target’s fall collection. Which for a label junkie like myself is a very big deal. It’s not very often that labels like this take an affordable approach on fashion, let alone work on getting something like this to ship to a smaller town like Kansas City. Not only are they producing a lump sum of their unique knitwear in various quality materials and colorful patterns, but they’re taking on more than your usual jackets and dresses. They managed to crank out bedding sets, kitchen ware, luggage, organizational supplies, and beauty products from bags to bobby pins; all on top of the usual bags, clothes, shoes, etc. They’ve truly out done themselves this year, and apparently I’m not the only one thinking the same. This collection sold out online everywhere in a little under 12 hours, the servers on the website eventually had to shut down because the capacity of people trying to go online was unruly.
Okay, now that I’m done being a fan girl, let’s get down to brass tax. Starting with my personal favorite the form flattering, and always cozy knit dress. These dresses are sought after from the sidelines of a runway, which makes it all that more exciting to see yourself working something models get to sport during shows. What I love about these dresses are they have an array of colors that allow you to pair it with various make up, jewelry, leggings, shoes, and jackets. So many possibilities with a piece like this, and it’s the perfect fall color scheme. Keeping you warm and fabulous for only $59.99!
The next item to leave me speechless had to be the skirts. I’m a massive fan of skirts, especially during this season. It still gives you the chance to keep the fun of summer clothing with a chilly twist. They kept the same pattern going so maybe if dresses aren’t for you, you can work a skirt like this to still have the same comfy and grabbing affect as the dresses do at a low price of $39.99.
I was really intrigued with the way they took on the tops. They went completely opposite with the material choice than they did their bottoms and cardigans. I also thought it was a nice change of pattern going for the more floral feel but still sticking with this year’s popular tones. They also had a few floppy hats that matched a few of the patterns in the tops which I thought was out of the ordinary. They really made it easy for women to stay chic this year and I like that they put that kind of thought into it making this collection at $40.
The variety of shoes they were able to create is beyond me. Not only did they stick with the same versatile color scheme in the flats for a more casual every day look, but they made the rain boots fun with the pops of color to brighten up a day of inclement weather. They even threw in a working girl heel at the perfect height that can be dressed up for a girl’s night out ranging from $30-40.00.
I also spotted a few odds and ends for the organized girl on the go, I’ve always been one to obsess over supplies so these were to die for. Office and travel Chic? I think so.
Dividers, storage cubbies- $7.99 to $14.99 and make up bags- $9.99 to 24.99Travel bags $12.99 to $34.00
luggage is $169.99
As far as products for the home go, they nailed the necessities there as well. After some hunting in the kitchen section the display was sparse but I was automatically fawning over the mugs and begging my mother for a new bed spread. It’s going to be winter soon you know, might as well keep warm in style. Although the prices are a little high ranging from $80 to $100 for a comforter and some sheets, I was still infatuated with the patterns. The mugs and party trays on the other hand are something the whole family can enjoy for a better price.
Then there were a few odds and ends I felt I needed to include because they were so cute and any girl could use them every day. Oak Park is full of girls throwing their hair up first thing in the morning and rushing to school, so the headbands seemed nothing short of appropriate and a phenomenal price of $7.99. After a long day of learning, everyone is dying for a good nap, so get to sleep faster with these adorable sleep masks for around $10.
So that concludes my venture to Target, if I haven’t convinced you to check out Missoni for this fall then make sure to come check out my next post in a few weeks and see if I can’t surprise you with something new!
