Journalism searches for the next staff

Hey, YOU! Yes, YOU!

“YOU could be the next Susan Hiland of Oak Park,” said Landon Patterson, a senior on the Axe staff, in the recent enrollment video.

The Axe is looking for new potential staff members to join next year’s team. The Axe is a super fun, safe environment to make videos and report on different topics going around the school. On the Axe you are a part on a team. Every morning you report to put on a daily news show filled with videos and VOs. The various jobs you could be apart of include: anchor, teleprompter, camera operator, sound engineer, graphics and you can even learn how to run a TriCaster as a technical director or director.

If you are at all thinking about going into journalism broadcasting, hoping to work at a news station or just looking for a fun class you get to make videos in then I highly recommend The Axe. It has definitely been a well spent three years in this class and it can be for you too!

Stop by the Journalism room today to ask questions, or sign up for Journalism 2 Broadcast and complete this application.

You can also use that application to join journalism by working for the monthly newsmagazine, TNL (aka The Northmen’s Log), or the annual Cambia yearbook. Plus there’s N2 Sports broadcast and sports marketing.

There are eight classes to choose from in the journalism department, one is perfect for you:
