Junior Kelli Reichert gets a plate of food at a Veggie Club meeting on Monday, October 8. This was the club’s third meeting of the year. “[I joined veggie club because] breakfast is a plus, vegetables are good, and I heard it was awesome,” Reichert said.
Sophomore Rebecca Hughes picks up a biscuit to eat during the Veggie Club meeting. The club meets at 6:45 am every two weeks. “I’ve been able to meet people I didn’t even know existed at the school,” Hughes said.
Freshman Orie Agbaji, junior Bret Bussinger and sophomore Samantha Belcourt line up for breakfast at the meeting. The group focuses on healthy eating. “It’s a great way to interact with people who have different lifestyles,” Bussinger said. “Although I am not a vegetarian I enjoy learning about the food they eat and actually getting to try them.”
The group looks through a presentation showing what people from different countries eat. “It was interesting to see what other people eat in other parts of the world,” said sophomore Ashton Hendron.
