Review: ‘Creed’

I’m not going to lie, everyone thought this movie was going to be terrible. I mean it is literally the seventh movie in the series, it can’t be good, right?

Wrong.

This movie was actually surprisingly good. After the last couple movies in the series were majorly disappointing, this installment took a much needed interesting plot twist.

Rocky has to train one of Apollo Creed’s sons, who decides to leave his career in pursuit of becoming a professional boxer. Part of the way through the movie, we find out Rocky has cancer and purposely isn’t getting treated.

I’m not going to spoil how those two things end, but I will say that at the end of the movie there is a scene where Rocky and Creed’s son are running on the stairs just like in the older movies in the series and it’s just perfect.

This movie has quite a few moments that are sentimental to the other movies in the series, but the plot is still original and stands on its own. It’s good to see the other movies in the series before seeing this one, but you don’t really have to.

I would say, yes, I recommend this movie to everyone because it’s pretty good. If you’ve already gave up on the series, give this one a chance because its actually better then the last couple movies in the series.
