Pokémon X and Y brings new dimensions to play

Review by: Dillon Heginbottom

Pokémon X and Y is a whole new experience for Pokémon fans. One of the new and most popular features is the 3D.

This has changed the way people battle and make it much more enjoyable for the player.

Take Charizard for example: In the old 2D games, you can only see the head and possibly the torso; while in this game you can see this beast hovering over the ground. This makes it look like you are actually behind your Pokémon preparing to make your Pokémon attack. It feels more interactive.

The gameplay in this game is much faster than previous games. Normally at the beginning if one of these awesome games, the beginning of the game is very sluggish and boring, but within the first half an hour of this game you start battling tough trainers, battle the first gym leader and receive roller skates. The roller skates make the player feel like the game is going by much faster because they are not stuck walking throughout the fist few cities. The pace of the game does not make the player want to quit playing.

Finally, I would have to say that this is the best Pokémon game that Game Freak has produced. It brings a whole new experience to the player and the new mega evolutions and fairy type add a whole new twist to the game. Mega evolutions make the trainers team much stronger. The new fairy Pokémon is super effective against the once very powerful dragon Pokémon. Although dragons are still powerful, they no longer can destroy everything in their paths. These cute little Pokémon pack a powerful punch and I love it. In my opinion this game is on my top five favorite games.
