Electric cars are better than gas cars

Did you know car manufacturers are working towards a better cleaner future by introducing more electric cars to the market than ever before? Thankfully,  since electric cars are more efficient, use less energy and have less maintenance costs than their fully gas-powered counterparts.

Electric cars are more efficient than gas cars. According to the National Resource Defense Council, electric cars have 85% efficiency while gas cars have 40% efficiency, this means electric cars are the most efficient type of car when it comes to energy use, while gas cars are some of the least efficient when it comes to energy use. The average miles per gallon in an all gas-powered cars is 24 miles. The average miles per gallon in a hybrid car is 100 miles per energy equivalent of a gallon of gasoline.

According to the U.S. Department of Energy, the EPA and the Argonne National Laboratory, gas cars are worse for the environment than electric cars. Though electric cars do have more emissions when they are being made than gas, but gas cars have more emissions throughout their lifetime because they use fossil fuel. Gas cars when they use gas it makes CO2 which goes into the sky and aids in global warming.

Electric cars have less maintenance than gas cars, according to the U.S. Department of Energy, because they require less parts because they go off electricity and batteries they need to be repaired less. The average car owner spends $8,643 to maintain. Having an electric car cuts that down to $8,320.

In the future, we hope electric cars will become cheaper and more available to all people no matter their income. The fact they are more efficient and use less energy makes a difference in the effect mobile vehicles on the environment. To help make our world a healthier place to live in the future, we should strive towards more electric cars today.
