Oak Park has had a rough time with their football success in the past seven years. Oak Park hired new coaches last season and they did very well with leading this team to greatness. With them coming from Liberty North High School they do things a little different than what Oak Park is used to. So, what the coaching staff has decided that we should do spring training for the off season and we should get better for the 2018-2019 season.

There are some problems that come along with that though, many of the student athletes aren’t showing up for the spring off-season training, so here is what the coaches decided to do to make it fun for all the kids and to make them come to the spring training. The coaches decided to make the spring training really fun by making the practices into one big game and they call it Code Blue. Code Blue is where all the student athletes compete against each other to win.

Code Blue gives you a chance to get a good workout in and grow a stronger bond with your teammates whom you’ll be playing with in the next upcoming season. It teaches you how to be pushed and how to push the man right next to you. But the thing that everyone is competing for is something called a ‘black shirt’. The ‘black shirt’ is just a black shirt, and if you earn this ‘black shirt’ it means you’re one of the best on the team and everyone wants to earn that shirt to get bragging rights for the rest of the season.

Since the coaches have started this the team is growing together every day and gets them all ready for the 2018-2019 football season, and has created a new bond between everybody else and I think we are coming up on the rebuilding side of things now.
