WATER you drinking?

How can water taste better without the extra calories added? The Right Cup is FDA approved and is designed with the proper smell and taste in order to make water not water.

According to their Indiegogo page (https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-right-cup-trick-your-brain-drink-more-water-health-technology#/) ), the cup is designed with smell and taste. The human tongue tastes only sweet, bitter, sour, salty, and umami flavors. The reason you taste your foods and drinks is because the nose is response for picking up 80% of the flavor. Your brain is tricked to think that you are drinking fruit flavored water or sodas, but really you are having regular water.

Isaac Lavi is responsible for this genius design. He first thought of the idea in 2010 and then for 5 years he researched and developed. In January 2015 he created the first prototype. Taste trials were conceived April through July 2015 along with the final cup design in August. In November Indiegogo launched their campaign. In January 2016 they tried different flavor tastes and production started that following February. The cup is released February 11, 2017 and one cup costs $29- $35 plus shipping.

When buying a cup, in order to preserve the aroma, you should hand wash it and store it upside down. If you don’t, the aroma will leave it. If done properly the aroma and taste should last 6 months. As you drink out of the cup more and more your brain begins to accept the smell and taste off the rim of the cup and doesn’t think twice about it. When getting away from sugary drinks, your brain learns to not crave sugar as much, therefore you don’t crave the sugary substances. The average American should be drinking 8 cups of water a day.

The Right Cup has 3 different parts to it, the outside cup, the inner cup, and the ring. The ring is the part where the aroma and taste come from. The inner cup is what holds the liquid and is also where the taste comes from. The outside cup is a protective covering in order to keep the cup from breaking. The cup can hold 320mL or 10.8 ounces of water. The dimensions of the cup are 81.3mm by 113.5mm.
