Science Olympiad places 15th

The Oak Park Science Olympiad Team competed Saturday at the O-town Throw Down hosted by Olathe North High School.  With 25 teams, including top 10 teams from Missouri, Nebraska and Kansas; OPSO placed 15th as a team.

Top 10 individual performances from OPSO were as follows:

  • 10th place in Astronomy: Erica Dykes
  • ninth place in Experimental Design: Sophia Hull, Tyler Mason and Jaeza Robertson
  • seventh place in Dynamic Planet: Erica Dykes and Anne Hughes
  • sixth place in Hovercraft: Mawada Eskander and Mason Mayer
  • fourth place in Rocks and Minerals: Erica Dykes and Leanna Borgeson

“This gives us a good place to start and a better idea where the bull’s eye is for our young team,” said coach Chris Goll.
