The Cruise on Noland has been a weekly car event held in Independence, Mo., since 2015. It is hosted in front of the Advance Auto Parts store near the intersection of South Noland Road and East 37th Street.
In the past, many vehicles used to appear at the meet, numbering over 200 according to Cars and Coffee Events. However, that number has been in decline. Asking one of the car owners at the meet on Saturday, March 8, he said, “Ever since the original organizer stepped away last year, this event has kinda gone downhill.”
The number of cars in attendance on March 8 was closer to 30 cars, showing a sharp decline in attendance.
An eighth generation Buick Roadmaster sits parked next to a Sport-Bike on Saturday, March 8, at the Cruise on Noland. This Roadmaster has had its original engine swapped with an LS motor and has had twin turbos with hood stack exhausts installed. The owner said, “It's detuned and making about 700 horsepower at the moment, but could easily be brought up much higher.” An eighth generation Roadmaster typically makes 260 horsepower from the factory.
