Freshman football wins, dreams big

Before the game, freshman Vance Salazar, No. 66, said he was “praying with his brothers.” Salazar states he hopes to play on varsity but has no plans of going to college for football.

Freshman running back Eli Schumann, No. 9, runs in for a touchdown against the Northtown Hornets. Schumann said he has been playing football for eight years. He hopes to play D1 at Michigan. One thing that stuck out to Eli during the game was “the bond with his teammates.” The final score was 21-8, Oak Park taking the win on Monday, Oct. 14.

The Oakies played their first regular season game Monday, Nov. 25 against Raytown and won the game 69-30.
