“Smile 2,” directed by Parker Finn and starring Naomi Scott, is the latest chilling installment in the horror franchise. Picking up from the first film’s cliffhanger, it promises to deliver thrills for returning fans.
The sequel continues with the protagonist dealing with an evil spirit, leading to intense and unexpected events. I found that interesting because it made me wonder what would happen due to the last movie ending on a cliffhanger.
A reason I did not enjoy the movie that much is because of all the gore because in a lot of the scenes there is blood or deaths.
Something I did find interesting is how it took over her mind to think her best friend was back, but it was all in her head. Which made me more intrigued to figure out what would happen next.
I wouldn’t recommend this movie if you don’t like gore, if you’re okay with it though, like horror movies, plot twists, and suspense, I would recommend this movie due to it being both interesting but also kind of disgusting due to some of the gore. If you compare both movies, I personally enjoyed the first one more due to it being less icky, but I enjoyed the plot twists of this one more. I would rate the movie a 7/10. I really enjoyed the suspense, plot twists, special effects, but I didn’t like the excessive gore.
