OPHS Theatre earns received 11 Blue Star nominations. ThePresident and CEO of Starlight came to present the nomination banners himself this morning.

Nominations are as follows:

• Technical Achievement Award: Kaleighan Chastain for Sound Crew Leadership
• Technical Achievement Award: Joe Lunares for Scenic Design
• Outstanding Scenic Design and Construction, Tier II
• Outstanding Actress in a Featured Role: Cierra Gonzales as Daniela
• Outstanding Actress in a Featured Role: Lindsey Jones as Carla
• Outstanding Actor in a Supporting Role: Peyton Cassity as Benny
• Outstanding Actress in a Lead Role: Chloe Pelham as Nina Rosario
• Outstanding Actor in a Lead Role: Josiah Fahnestock as Usnavi
• Outstanding Orchestra
• Outstanding Ensemble
• Outstanding Overall Production

“These are truly amazing students who have poured their hearts and souls into the musical and this truly paid off,” theater teacher Matt Ashpaugh wrote in an email. “If you see any of the theatre students that were in the musical, please congratulate them on these amazing nominations.Thank you all for supporting these students and the theatre program here at Oak Park.”

The Blue Star Awards will be on Thursday, May 23 at Starlight Theater.
