So it’s now the beginning of the second semester here at Oak Park. I would just like to take a moment and talk about some of the big events there are coming up. This weekend there is the annual Sadie Hawkins dance! We have some great guys nominated for Sadie king and the dance is sure to be a hit, if a lot of people show up. This dance has the lowest attendance of the year and the Leadership class is trying to fix that! So everyone come out to Sadie this year; there will actually be good music for the first time since it was pre picked by the student body.

Spring sports also start this semester which is super exciting! There is track, and boys’ tennis, girls’ soccer, and boys’ golf. There will also be cheer and dance tryouts for next year during March! Be sure to try out for your favorite sport or activity. If spring season is your off season, be sure to make it out to a few games!

AP testing is also this semester! If you are in any AP class, you have the option to take the AP test at the end of the year. Right now is just as important as before test because it’s time to start studying! Those tests are college aptitude tests- there to see how you would test in college and potentially get college credit if you test out of the class. They can save you a lot of money!

Prom is also at the end of the semester! I do believe the day is May 6! The junior class officers recently decided on a theme, but from what I’ve heard, that is still a secret. If you are a junior or a senior, come to prom! It is always a blast.

There is much going on around OP this last semester of our school year, and I barely scratched the surface. These are just a few of the big things we have going on! I hope everyone finds a way to get involved!
