Oak Street Kills it at Kauffman Stadium
Catch the Royals game last night? If you did you would have seen the Oak Street singers performed the National Anthem at the start of the game.
Junior Sarah Horseman said this was her first time, like many of the Oak Street Singers, performing at Kauffman Stadium. But nerves weren’t getting to anyone last night as they sang the National Anthem bringing the stadium to tears.
Lindsey Jones, a member or Oak Street, said that while in town from Hawaii, her aunt and uncle came to the game to see her perform with her Oak Street family, a once in a lifetime opportunity they enjoyed every minute of.
Spectators felt the same way.
One said, “They sounded amazing. It was a great way to start the game.”
After Oak Street performed, they joined their supporters in the Hy-Vee section to cheer on their boys in blue. Which for many was their favorite part of the night.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t a great night for Royals baseball. The royals lost to the Oakland As 8-0. But that didn’t stop Oak Street from having fun enjoying the atmosphere of Kauffman Stadium with their peers and just having a good time.
