Kohn’s Notes: Wrestling
Since I started wrestling freshman year I couldn’t stop, I was immediately hooked on the sport. I fell in love with the sport, it wasn’t just the aggressiveness of the sport it was the hard work I had to put in to win. Wrestling contains a lot of dedication and I had to be disciplined, not just during practices and trying to cut weight but with family and friends each year in wrestling I have a good experience, either its during practice, during my matches or with my coaches and the new friends I make.
Wrestling consists of a lot of hard work and dedication in time and practice to obtain your goal of winning matches, qualifying, and or placing in tournaments. Having that hard work mentality helps you out when you step on that mat to face your opponent especially when you’ve just worked hard in practice and it pays of in a match. The coaches and your teammates will help with the motivation, so you’ll be ready for your opponents. Every thing that we get taught has a purpose, either to help you score in a match or help you defend your self from an opponent that is trying to score on you.
One of the hardest parts of wrestling is not the competing and the wrestling. The hardest part of it is the practices which prepare you for the matches. Having practice being so hard makes the matches and the people you face easier, because your already prepared for them. Practice make guys the players they are and also breaks them, makes them stronger and more prepared for your opponents. Working hard in practice separates you from the others who play around in practice.
