          Miss OP assembly a hit

          Although all of the candidates were very special and unique, there was one that stuck out in particular. Kaitlyn Watkins won the Miss OP award. She showed off her musical talents at the talent show and raised $252 dollars from the capture the flag event. Congrats Kaitlyn!

          OPHS ELL Outreach pairs with elementary students
          A protest about LGBTQ+ ,women's and political rights. happened on International Women’s Day Saturday, March 8 at Mill Creek Park, near the Plaza in downtown Kansas City.
          Protest Champions Rights on International Women’s Day
          On Wednesday, Jan. 8, NKC Schools student Ryker Nakahodo begins to shovel his driveway by throwing it atop a pile. He did all this in the hope that shoveling snow would earn some money. He also didn't want to change into winter gear because wanted to get out there and do a quick job. “Because I don't want my Mom to slip and die in the car or Silva [our neighbor]," Nakahodo said.
          Winter Storm Blair sends students home for record week
          Students dive into history with “Salt to the Sea.” Alik, a member of the freshmen book club, shared, “this book really makes you feel the weight of history and the power of survival stories.” The club meets weekly to discuss themes of resilience and humanity in literature.
