On Aug. 22, the Oak Park Orchestra went on a tour of the feeder elementary schools. Their stops included West Englewood, Meadowbrook, Chapel Hill and last but not least Clardy.
“It was an amazing opportunity especially because I am in my first year of Symphonic orchestra! I love working and creating bonds with everyone in the orchestra,” said XoeAnne Zuber, violist for the Oak Park Symphonic orchestra.
At each school the orchestra played three to four songs in order to inspire the fifth graders to join orchestra and show them how fun it really can be.
In between schools, the orchestra droned about tests and school work, but for the children they put on their happiest faces and offered the fifth graders a glimpse into high school life.
