Orchestra moves venues to big success
The Orchestra kicked off its Holiday concert last Thursday with some festive tunes.
This year, the orchestra had a mishap with scheduling and unfortunately had to play their concert in the little theater. This is something that has never happened before.
Each orchestra, symphonic and chamber, squished onto the tiny stage to play their set. Orchestra director Erick Theno managed to dim the lights to create an intimate stage for parents to listen.
Since the space was so small, the acoustics sounded amazing. A few parents said they would prefer it if all of the concerts were set in the little theater.
“It allowed me to see the kids play from a different angle and perspective, it was fascinating,” said Kelly Beattie.
For the last song, Chamber and Symphonic came together to play the classic “White Christmas” tune.
Theno handed out hot chocolate and dimmed the lights to blue to create a snow effect. It was a chilling, magical evening and definitely got everyone in the holiday spirit.
