Six students to go to MFAA 2016
Six Oak Park students were congratulated this morning for being selected to represent Oak Park and North Kansas City Schools at this year’s Missouri Fine Arts Academy.
MFAA, often referred to as the “Governor’s Academy,” is a three-week summer residential program for highly motivated student artists in visual arts, theatre, dance, creative writing, and music. The Academy offers an intensive schedule of classes in interdisciplinary and discipline-specific arts, and a wide range of co-curricular activities. Participants are immersed in interdisciplinary and process-enhancing experiences, along with the top Fine Arts students from across the State.
Students selected to represent the District must exemplify success, not only in their specific Fine Arts area, but also academically and within the community.
Congratulations to the following students:
- Dean Foreman, Theater;
- Chad Humphrey, Vocal;
- Kenzie Johnson, Orchestra;
- Abbie Hutchison, Visual Art;
- Annie Bensyl, Theater Alternate;
- and Anna Partida, Visual Art Alternate.
OP kids will be joined at MFAA by students representing the Fine Arts at Staley, Winnetonka, and North Kansas City high schools.
