OakPark Cheerleaders
It’s time to get back in gear ladies and gentlemen. As the OP Cheerleading team gets back in shape for the new season to come. “Honestly I couldn’t tell ya! Based on our open gyms I feel as though we will have a big tryout full of talented folks. Other then that we will continue with the same traditions of promoting spirit within the school and leadership within the student body. This year we are very excited to continue student athlete growth in the field of leadership as that is a skill that transfers through the rest of life.” Says Mayabb.
As we know, it’s always eye-catching whenever we see male athletes take an interest in cheerleading and seeing them along the sidelines cheering on other athletes. “Based on open gyms I believe we will have two more males trying out but more could show up, you never know!” says Mayabb.
OP cheerleading does more than cheer on our other athletes of the school, they also as well have their own cheerleaders that come and support them in their events. “this season I would like to see all student athletes continue to grow in the areas of Academics, Leadership and Skill. I would also like for the Navy squad to win Regionals and place top 3 at State. I would also like to see continuous growth for the Columbia and White squad as the year progresses.” Says Coach Mayabb. So for anyone with school filled spirit, don’t be afraid to come on out and take an interest of our upcoming 2015-2016 OP cheerleading teams.
