I don’t know if they were feeling an immense amount of team spirit and pride, or if they actually believe that the Kansas City Royals will win the 2014 World Series, but the results of a random sample survey I conducted show that Oak Park has some strong believers.

When asked the question, “Do you think the Royals will win the World Series?” 50 out of 56 Oak Park students answered yes while only 6 students took the opposing side.

It’s not just Oak Park that’s favoring the Royals to win though, Vegas odds makers expect the Royals to continue their lucky winning streak and win it all, giving them 4/5 odds to beat the San Francisco Giants. AND, the two teams actually met earlier in the year in interleague play, resulting in the Royals winning all three games by quite a bit. The Giants, however have been known to magically defy the odds so I guess it’ll be a series of magic vs. luck.

Game one of the World Series was a loss for the Royals on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at our very own Kauffman Stadium.
