Let’s face it, college is not for everyone, but there are some alternatives.

According to a list of alternative to college from huffingtonpost.com, going into the military is a possibility and offers the chance to earn and save money for future studying if a person chose to do so.

“I would rather go in and have a career then go to college, I made this choice around freshmen year,” said senior Nicollete Swafford.

Another alternative is studying abroad.

“I know I want to do some traveling right after high school, Europe definitely,” said junior Katy Davis.

High school graduates can always do volunteer work or start an internship. This is a way to gain work experience and add something marketable to your resume.

“I like getting out of fourth block, plus I am actually learning something that is in relevance to a career I may want to pursue in the future,” said junior Samantha Adair.

Former students can also go straight into a career.

“I might give piano lessons someday. But I will mostly use my talent for worship,” Said junior Miranda Mansell.

There are several alternatives to college, you just have to explore the possibilities and find what is right for you.
