Hello there fellow Gleeks! Yes, the rumors are true, season three of the Fox television show, Glee, kicked off this past Tuesday. The show choir kids are back in session, but with a few minor changes within the cast and throughout the show as a whole. Few minor characters have come and gone throughout the life of the show, but the main cast remains pretty much the same.
“The Purple Piano Project” was the title of the season opener. The main purpose of this episode was to recruit people for the Glee club. The number of people in the club has fluctuated, starting at about ten members and never rising above twenty members. Matthew Morrison’s character, Will Schuster, places vintage purple pianos at various places in the school and encourages the students to sing or dance at every one they see to hopefully get people interested, but when they perform a musical number in front of the student body, it somehow evolves into a full on food fight. Diana Agron’s character, Quinn Fabray, seems to be going through a phase where she is trying to find “who she is” and has left the Glee club for no certain amount of time. In the end, the Glee club ends up with one terrible audition and a loss of a few members and also the addition of one new Glee club member, Blaine Anderson played by Darren Criss.
There was a total of five musical numbers in the show on Tuesday. The show tunes were from popular Broadway shows such as, Wicked, Anything Goes, and Hairspray. We were also introduced to a new character, played by Lindsay Pearce, who was one of the four winners from The Glee Project. Her character and her accomplice were extremely similar to Lea Michele’s character, Rachel Berry, and Chris Colfer’s character, Kurt Hummel.
In my opinion, the season premier presented many unexpected changes I, personally, did not see coming, but this is what I think will make for an interesting season. I think the show has gotten better over time, and hopefully the show can attract the viewers it needs to continue the show.

I was very disappointed that Santana got kicked off the glee club. But thought it was cool that Kurt’s boyfriend joined the New Direction’s Glee Club. That was an awesome addition to the club.
