“The Yellow Boat” opens tonight
Senior Brenden Blue and junior Cameron Burns played father and son in Yellow Boat, a play for this year’s theatre for a cause in hope to raise money for Children’s Mercy Hemophilia Center. Blue played a young boy name Benjamin, who was born with hemophilia and died in 1987 at the age of 8. “Playing a young boy with such a wild imagination has been an outlet for my own creativity. Benjamin is not like any role I’ve done before; I have to really dig deep and be expressive with this character, and be as creative as I can.” Said Blue.
The Oak Park Theatre Department premieres “The Yellow Boat” tonight, Friday and Saturday as this year’s Theater for a Cause.
This year’s production benefits the Children’s Mercy Hospital Hemophilia Center.
Students have worked several weeks to prepare this show at the same time they’ve been working on the spring musical.
Due to health safety, the performance is only available through the N2 Sports webstream. Instead of tickets, audience members can pay $15 or $30 for their stream access.
