The Case for Christ – Movie Review

The Case for Christ – Movie Review

Summary – The Case for Christ is a movie based off the best-selling book written by Lee Strobel. It follows his life and the process of going from an atheist to a Christian of great importance. Strobel and his wife believe they are atheist, but one day when an unsuspecting woman saves the life of their little girl, Strobel’s wife turns to a belief in a loving, merciful God and begins attending a Christian church. Lee Strobel is an investigative journalist working for the Chicago Tribune and he sets out on a case for Christ, really more of a case against Christ as he searches the world for evidence against Jesus’ resurrection. At every lead Strobel runs into a dead end, frustrating him more and more the further he dives into the real case for Christ. He addresses every atheist argument imaginable and is consistently shut down by experts, by overwhelming evidence, or by pure awe. Strobel spends over a year on this investigation and gains no ground for his biased outset, and instead settles on surrender. In all of Strobel’s work, he was never able to come up with even a smidgen of evidence against Jesus Christ and his resurrection, and he becomes a Christian.

Review – This movie was absolutely phenomenal. Christian movies tend to lag behind most secular movies in terms of cinematography but this movie is expertly done and extremely entertaining. It is also very educational for religious people and secular people alike. It addresses every argument made by the atheist community and debunk every one and teaches a lot of the history of the bible and Jesus Christ. It is a story parallel with strong emotions, losing loved ones, and family struggles. I would highly recommend watching this movie to absolutely anyone.
