School celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month

Hispanic Heritage month ran from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, it was a time when people came together to celebrate their Spanish roots.

Here at Oak Park, we have created a community where Hispanic students can come together and learn about each other’s culture, even if you are not Hispanic and you would like to learn about the Spanish cultures, you are welcome to join the club.

The goal of the club is to educate students on the differences of each culture and to teach them how to embrace and share the festivities of the different ethnicities. Oak Park’s Hispanic Heritage Club hosted an Ethnicity Celebration during AR last Friday, where they are going to have members of the club show students how to dance merengue, salsa, cumbia, and bachata.

It’s just going to be a time where students of all ethnicities can get together, dance and celebrate Spanish roots.
