On Tuesday Nov. 26 students were given the opportunity to be rewarded for their good attendance. Most students said that they liked the idea and that the school should do it again next year.

“I think it’s a good move to get better grades and to push to be a better student,” said sophomore Vince Forte.

Others agreed.

“I thought it was a good idea,” said sophomore Maddie Russell. “It encourages people to come to school.”

Students with a 92% or higher attendance rate for the semester, and who were passing all classes with no more than two Ds, could attend a movie at the Northglen.

Most students attended “Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” some went to “Thor” and a few to “Frozen.”

Students were very positive about the experience and expressed hope the school would continue the experience next year

“I thought it was a good idea; it gives people something to look forward to when they come to school,” said junior Emina Dizdarevic.

Students who did not meet requirements had a choice of ACT prep, AP prep or study hall, among other intervention opportunities to raise grades and test scores.
