Volleyball team maintains success

Sports Q&A by: Kelli Reichert

The Oak Park Volleyball team has rocketed off to a great start with wins over Northtown, Belton, and Fort Osage. The team was not expected to do this well after four-year letter winner, Amy Linderhorst graduated. The team was able to set up and fill the void left by Linderhosrt, and remain successful.

But how did the team do it? Junior Rebecca Sarri, explains it all:

Northmen News: “Why do you enjoy tailgating?”: “How did you expect the season to go?”

Junior Rebecca Sarri:: “My expectations weren’t too high, I just expected us to be good like always. And of course to have fun with the girls.”

NN: : “As a returning lettermen, what leadership role have you played for the 2013 season?”

RS:: “I try to set an example for the other girls and just help them get better at volleyball if they need to do anything different.”

NN: : “What did you and the team do to prepare for the season?”

RS:: “We had summer league at Park Hill South and team camps during the summer.”

NN: : “What did the first victory of the season feel like?”

RS:: “It felt good, it was a great start to the season.”

NN: : “How do you expect the rest of the season to go?”

RS:: “I expect the rest of the season to be fun with my girls and do the best we can. I want to become conference camps and really grow as a team.”

With a team that works as hard as our Lady Oakies, it is only sensible expect a great year from our volleyball team. As they power through the rest of their season let’s support our girls and cheer for them at their games. Good luck girls, show them what you can do!
