My very first blog post for this website was covering the much anticipated Kardashian Kollection hitting Sears stores everywhere. But the sisters are back again adding a new edition to their collection-their very own denim line.
This line offers three different designs, The Kim, The Kourtney and The Khole. You would have never guessed, right? The Kim is a low-cut and sexy straight leg jean with an indigo wash that gives you a more sophisticated look; so basically if your body type is anything like what Kim Kardashian has going on, then go for it. Then there’s the Khloe that’s a high rise boot cut jean, tailored to fit the taller women with shape and by taller I mean 6 foot and above. Last, we have the Kourtney, your everyday skinny jean for the average girl on the go.
My only issue with this is you only have three options of a fit, and only three options of a wash. So if you have any other body type than the Kardashian sisters, and you don’t want a dark wash or completely whited out jean, you’re totally out of luck looking through this line.
These jeans are claimed to “hug your curves and compliment your figure while being affordable and comfortable.” Each pair is only $46.99 during the launch sale, so it’s a happy medium for a “desinger” jean.
Now let’s discuss the fantastic find I came across over my weekend, Levi’s just put out this new line of denim called Curve ID, and I think it is absolutely brilliant. I was on YouTube surfing fashion week videos and one of the ads came on before the show started and it was a fellow fashion blogger Jaclyn Johnson (www.somenotesonnapkins.com) talking about these great new jeans. You can watch the video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySgKI4xLx9Q. So I felt like I needed to do some digging of my own.
When you go to the Levi’s website you click on the women’s tab and either on the side bar you can click find your fit or scroll to the bottom and click find your fit. This leads you to a four part mini quiz.
Step 1: Identify your shape from waist to hip, the options are straight, some curve, curvy and very curvy, brief descriptions of each body type are written below an illustration.
Step 2: Choose what your thighs are behind are classified as; flat, average, full, or round.
Step 3: Fit issues, problems you face while out shopping or with jeans you might have already settled for and purchased; the waist too tight but fits in thighs, gaps in the back, and not enough coverage giving you peek-a-boo butt, and then you get the option of claiming them as not an issue, sometimes an issue, or always an issue.
Step 4: Click the see your curve tab, and you’re presented with one of the four fits Curve ID provides; straight curve, demi curve, bold curve, and supreme curve. I’m a bold curve and I’m proud.
You also get a choice of the leg opening and the rise depending on what jean you’re led to and the website takes you right to your tab to start shopping your fit. There is always at least nine pairs available for each jean and are all different washes perfect for any fashionista’s versatile style and are kind of shocking sitting at the $60 price mark, but it’s worth it when you’re on the hunt for a new favorite pair of jeans. Quality denim is built to last, and is a staple in any girl’s wardrobe.
In this denim throw down, I say Curve ID takes the win right from under the Kardashian’s. Not only do you get an interactive experience without even having to step foot in a mall, but finding your perfect fit doesn’t feel so impossible anymore. The Curve ID is made for women to find the jeans for their SHAPE not go into a store and dig through a thousand different sizes and cuts and brands and washes to try and find the ones just using the numbers. The comfort of being able to have a custom pair of jeans made right for you is enough reassurance to splurge a little. Denim now has personality with a line like this. I highly encourage any one of my followers to go take their quiz and browse what Curve ID can offer you.
Amen fashion,
