Junior varsity vs. Grandview
On Monday, Sept. 12, Oak Park junior varsity football played Grandview away. The final score was 12-0, Grandview.
During the first quarter a touchdown was scored by Grandview, adding six points to the board. Another touchdown was scored by Grandview in the second quarter.
Varsity vs. Ruskin
On Friday, Sept., 16, Oak Park varsity football played an away game against Ruskin High School. The overall score was 32-0, Ruskin.
During the first quarter, junior Parker Bealue was carried out on a stretcher with a broken leg. Shortly after, Ruskin High School scored a touchdown without a two-point conversion. Two additional touchdowns were scored by Ruskin in the first quarter, one with and one without the extra two points. At third quarter, Ruskin ran three more touchdowns without conversions.
With one minute on the clock at the end of the fourth quarter, player number 60 from Ruskin was tackled on the field. An ambulance was called due to severe neck injuries and the player was carried out on a stretcher. His current condition is not known.
