Every year, the 2nd month of the year, and the 14th day of that month there is a Holiday called Valentine’s Day. On this day couples all over celebrate their love over dinner, chocolates, flowers, and balloons; making the number of this day 2.
(Unless of course you’re a Bigamist then you can have 2 valentines making your number 3 or if you’re a Polygamist then you can even have more than that, and if you have enough money for that much chocolate then you go for it! But, the usual number on this day is 2.)
If on this day your party number is 1, it can become a sad day, a dreary day that can become dreaded. But, what most single parties don’t know is that Valentines Day doesn’t have to be about you and another frolicking around and contributing to the most PDA the world has ever seen. Not even Joe Nichols the best hall monitor Oak Park high school has ever seen or could stop! No, if you’re single Valentines Day can be a celebratory day towards you or your appreciation of others. There’s no need for tongue to be involved at all on this day.
Ideas for singles…
ME PARTY
Throw yourself a party in honor of yourself. Sort of like a birthday party, but be as ridiculous as having people dress like you or, to be more modest, wear your favorite color. Get your favorite food and plan your favorite activities.
APPRECIATE EVERYONE
Make everyone your valentine! Whether it be at school or at the work place grab a few boxes of conversation hearts or some Hershey’s kisses to give to everyone that is worthy of your appreciation and give everyone and yourself a great Valentine’s Day surprise.
BE FRESH
Try something new that you’ve never done before, but have always wanted to. Take a yoga class, a pottery class, or visit a library. With a high school kid’s busy schedule and typical worry of judgment there’s bound to be something that has caught you’re eye that you’ve never tested out. Today’s the day to do it!
Have a Happy Valentine’s Day and use Google, singles. Ode to the internet!
