Revamp your spring wardrobe

Groundhog’s Day has long passed, and our buddy Punxsutawney Phil has predicted an early spring this year. Pack away all of your winter clothes and break out your spring gear. Preparing for the warmer months may have you finding your wardrobe isn’t ready. Don’t worry if you need to go shopping to replenish for the new season, here are some essentials to get you’re spring wardrobe started.

The Staple Piece

Who doesn’t love t-shirts? They’re super comfortable and very versatile.

Senior Madison Shaddox said, “A t-shirt [is my favorite article of clothing for spring] ‘cause anything looks good in a t-shirt. It goes with everything; you always look good.”

Shaddox couldn’t be more right, a t-shirt can be casual with some cutoff shorts, or it can be dressed up with a skirt and a statement necklace.

The Must-Have Footwear

Some of the most popular shoes every girl likes to break out when the nice weather hits are sandals.

Senior Sheyanne Lewis said, “Sandals [are my favorite footwear for spring] because I like to show my feet. [Sandals] are cute and I have a lot of them.”

Sandals come in all shapes and sizes, there’s sure to be the perfect pair out there for your wardrobe.

The Glam Factor

Accessories can complete any look: adding that extra bracelet, or sliding on another ring can add a little more sophistication to any look.

Junior Enza Cangelosi said, “I swap out scarves in the fall for necklaces in the spring.”

Less is more, choosing to wear a big necklace means not adding gigantic earrings and a chunky bracelet. Jewelry in pastel colors look great in the spring months and can help lighten a person’s mood.

Bottoms Up

When students and teachers start breaking out the shorts, skirts, capris & rompers, it’s clear that spring has arrived.

Junior Kennedy Butler said, “My go-to clothing item during the spring/summer season is probably a pair of high-waisted shorts. That’s basically all I wear in the summer and I usually pair it with a cute crop top.”

There are tons of styles, fabrics and patterns to choose from and they let your legs take a break from the jeans and leggings worn in the winter.
