Robertson learns in a classroom instead of his home

Jozen Robertson has been homeschooled since pre-kindergarten.

He took two semesters at Maple Woods before going to Oak Park at 16, as a junior.

“Homeschooling has one key difference from public school,” Robertson said. “There wasn’t nearly as many tests.”

He was still able to understand subjects and learn at the same pace as other kids. His school days only lasted four hours long, because his schooling sessions were more heavily focused.

“I went to a homeschool group called NFLT that has over 80 families today, so I didn’t grow up as a socially stunted teen.”
