Trivia Night funds competitive trip for show choir

The Oak Street Singers hosted their annual Trivia Night fund raiser on Friday, Oct. 23 at Antioch Bible Baptist Church.  The funds raised will aid students in paying for the cost of their trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., where the group will perform at a national competition next April.

Oak Street members invited friends and family to the event, where each participant paid $10.  Tables of eight people recorded answers to trivia questions announced by Oak Street parents.  Such trivia categories included Finish the Lyrics, Movie Identification, Song Identification, Miscellaneous, and more.  Throughout the rounds of questions, Oak Streeters walked around the venue, serving drinks and snacks to the participants as needed.  As another way to raise money, choir members brought in desserts to be auctioned off during rounds of trivia.

Between the rounds of questions, the Oak Street Singers performed their “Immortal Hollywood” competition show for the year.

First, second, and third place trivia winners were announced and awarded the prize of satisfaction and a job well done.  Overall, the fund raiser was extremely successful, raising lots of money to help get Oak Street to Myrtle Beach!
