Fan Service: The fans of OP create backbone

They’re called many names; spectators, cheerleaders, supporters, admirers, viewers, onlookers. Before all of these terms though, they are ultimately called fans.

These fans are the backbone of our school. They are the people who scream when we score. They are the people who cry when we lose. They are the people who mourn with us when we’ve lost a friend. They are the friends we make and learn to love.

Our fans may not grow on trees, but what they lack in numbers they make up for in character!

One fan is quoted as saying, “I’m glad I transferred to Oak Park because it feels like a family there.” The interviewee chose to stay anonymous.

They went on to say that, “There is no school like Oak Park, there are only schools unlike Oak Park.”

I consider myself a fan of Oak Park. All day we fight alongside our school and all day we dream about how to make our school great.

We holler at football games. We shout during basketball games. We screech at soccer matches. We cheer louder than any other school.

Why? Because we are Oak Park.

Because we are family.

Because we are fans.
