OP Track

Just as spring has settled in, its time for the OP track team to get in gear again. I talked to Lyric Hamilton (Junior) to see what her thoughts were for this season.

“I look forward to hopefully making it to state & beating my PR in the 300 hurdles.” Says Lyric. This was her personal goal that she had made before the season started and hopes to achieve them by time the season gets over. Lyric had gone to sectionals last year, & hopes to go beyond that and make it to state.

The varsity track team had a practice meet on Friday of March 27th. “The practice meet was a good way to see how each person and as a team would compete for the season. I still have the whole season ahead of me to improve” Said Lyric.

The next day, they had an actual meet, but Lyric was unable to attend. “I was told they did good, wasn’t bad for the first meet but that there is areas that we can improve on to be better and that’s what we need to focus on.” States Hamilton.

Overall the team’s hard work is paying off so far and we can’t wait to see what they accomplish this season. Good luck to OP Track!
