Junior Ashley Sylvara attends the first dive practice of the season. Sylvara uses her gymnastics skills to help her with her diving skills. “Diving is a really dangerous sport and you have to persevere through all of the practice, but it is worth it at the end of the season at conferences,” Sylvara said.
Swimmers get directions from their coach during their first practice on November 12. The swim team consists of Oak Park, North Town, and Staley.
Juniors Amanda Rogowski, Katelyn Ramsey and Hannah Leach warm up with the boogie boards. Ramsey wants to try to do 30 in the 200 IM because last year she went 234 at conference. “I enjoy the team aspect of swim and also hanging out with the girls,” Ramsey said.
