Thanksgiving is a holiday when families should gather together and appreciate everything they’re thankful for. Most families now just think it’s an excuse to eat a big meal. That’s not even close to what Thanksgiving is really about.
Some people talk about how they gain weight after Thanksgiving. It’s not just a holiday to eat a bunch of food, which isn’t what it’s about. They need to appreciate what they have, because a lot of people don’t have a lot of the things that they do. Some people don’t have a roof over their head. Some people don’t have food on their table. People that have those things handed to them don’t realize how lucky they are.
People that complain about not getting what they want especially need to learn the meaning of Thanksgiving. There are kids and adults that would do anything to be in their position. To have the things they have. To have a job. To have a roof over their head. They need to realize what they have and appreciate it.
Being thankful isn’t just saying “I’m thankful for my family.” My idea of being thankful is actually thinking about that special something. Thinking about how much it means to you, what it does for, and what your life would be like without it.
Thanksgiving has changed a lot from when it actually originated. It is much more than eating turkey.
